If Oligo-elements role has been determined on a certain amount of cases, such as intra-cellular oxidation phenomena, it is also true its action in other cases has not been completely analysed yet; present in various molecules, they intervene in several reactions.

The existence of these actions is so evident that it allowed researchers  to establish the basis for a special therapy, able to objectivise a new kind of medicine and a new pathology, whose character is mainly functional. 

The first Italian oligo-catalytic, destined to human and animal medicine, have been realised by our laboratories, specialised in this new sector. They are nowadays widely prescribed with the name of OLIGOL, synonym of a gathering of warranties that we will now see in detail.

WHAT IS AN OLIGOL?

It is a solute  which contains one or more oligo-elements, its “catalytic” form characterises OLIGOL assuring their therapeutic efficacy. Not all oligo-elements are endowed with a catalytic power, the trace of “catalysis venoms”, or its anomalous concentration may cause them loss of activity.

Despite this is a relatively old discovery, it is just later that we have been able to use its therapeutic potential. The difficulties in realising stables and active compounds, complicated the long researches before obtaining the stable form characterising OLIGOL.

VEGETAL BIOLOGY TESTS

Raulin, Pasteur, Bertrand, Javiller, just to mention a few, underlined the notable influence of metal traces on micro-organisms development.

Thus, for instance, in total absence of manganese in a culture, some moulds (e.g. Sterigmatocystis Nigra) are not able to proliferate. A concentration of 10 allows development but no propagation.

With a concentration of 10  we can see the first yellow cones but is only after more than 10, that black cones, the only able to reproduce themselves, appear. Progressively increasing their concentration, you favour their growing up to a certain value, after which they completely lose their efficacy.

Nevertheless, after a certain critical concentration, an oligo-element can appear with inhibitor negative effects, or even with an opposite  action as related to the one we had with a low concentration.

Several works from all over the world, proved the indispensable role of certain minerals, of which we can generally find traces in living tissues.

HOW CAN AN OLIGO-ELEMENT ACT?

All living bodies, need the presence of metals in order to exercise their different functions, most of the time only in form of traces.

Metal ions as copper, cobalt, zinc and magnesium may be found within living cells as stables biological compounds; whereas sodium, potassium and more unstable ions, play a role in nervous conductivity, and magnesium in leading to muscular contraction.

Disregarding their physiological function, metallic ions go through the same metabolic processes of oxygen, that is to say accumulation and transfer of proteins in form of metal: myoglobin and haemoglobin for oxygen, ceruloplasmin for copper; vitamin B enzymes for cobalt, triphosphates and enolase for manganese and magnesium.

In all these cases, metals represent the active centres of the enzymes and, with a concentration of co-factors, the activity increases on a hyperbolic curve: when the concentration of the co-factor is below a certain threshold, the concentration of active compound (enzyme + co-factor) is low and changes proportionally;  when the co-factor concentration is above the threshold, each enzyme is matching a co-factor: the activity is at its top and cannot change (Michaelis Henry law).

The catalytic strength of an ion is therefore related to its power to form compounds with certain proteins, which in lack of it, constitute nothing but an Apo enzyme, or inactive principle of the enzyme.

Fields of action and use

Oligo-catalyc therapy is first of all addressed to diathesis, i.e. the irreversible condition preceding or following the establishment of organic disorders. From the insurgence of histologic lesions or severe metabolic disorders, oligo-catalyc therapy can be a helping element, sometimes precious, together with classic methods. 

LOW DOSAGES UTILISED DURING OUR REGULATING THERAPY THROUGH OLIGO-ELEMENTS, WERE SOMETIMES CONFUSED WITH HOMEOPATHY.

This is not true since:

•Allopathy provides our body with the missing elements or those able to fight the symptoms, in a relatively high dosage.

•Homeopathy, based on the like cures like doctrine, asking for body reactions through a particular stimulation using infinitesimal dosages (usually of the order of 10).

Oligo-catalytic therapy is, on the other hand, a therapy with an etiologic intent: catalyser introduction, with a concentration of some gammas per millilitre and in a state of ion, is enough to achieve the regularisation of several metabolic circuits, regulated by the enzymes, during storage and transfer of our ion. As a result, the same element may have the role of commune factor and as many  different functions as the number of different chemical bodies they need as exponent. This therapy is therefore addressed to every symptomatology that may be related to a metabolic dysfunction, in a diathesis phase, or to a reversible pre-post lesion syndrome, and it is therefore the functional therapy par excellence.

OLIGOL: PREPARATION FORMS

Oligol are mainly prepared as gluconate, since this organic derivative brings several benefits, such as:

•Easy ionic dissociation

•Lack of stinging and toxic effect

•Perfect stability in time

•Easy integration in normal metabolic cycle

•Isotony

•Good taste.

The administration and usage of a metallic  element poses complexes problems for the choice of the desired derivative. 

Even though the activity of oligo-elements does not depend on this choice only, this is nevertheless one of the important factors of their activity.

In form of solution, as metallic salts, oligo-elements have a very unstable activity, according to the acid radical.
